In April 2005, the Georgia Board of Regents voted to change the school's name and on August 1, 2005, the institution officially became Georgia Highlands College to reflect the regional nature of the population it serves.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 url = http://highlands.edu/about/index.htm )〕 The college supports varsity basketball teams for men and women, along with men's baseball and women's softball teams. == References ==
